Announced September 3, 2025, the H1i Plus is Garmin’s new flagship handheld GPS navigator \u2014 its most advanced yet, combining rugged navigation with inReach Plus satellite technology. It’s the first Garmin handheld that can send photos and voice memos over satellite, not just text.<\/p>\n
A completely new form factor vs. older GPSMAP 6x-series devices \u2014 more squared edges, plastic build with metal accents. It has a hybrid design: a 3.5″ glove-friendly, sunlight-readable touchscreen (282×470, chemically strengthened glass) plus physical buttons, including a customizable “action button.” It’s IP67 rated for dust\/water and MIL-STD 810 tested for shock\/thermal resistance. It’s larger and heavier than the previous 67i at 290g (10.2 oz).<\/p>\n
It has an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera \u2014 geotagged photos can be sent over satellite to other inReach users or Garmin Messenger contacts. It also has a voice recorder for satellite voice memos (recipients get both transcript and audio), and voice control for commands like “send check-in” or “take photo” \u2014 useful in an emergency if your hands are compromised.<\/p>\n
Preloaded TopoActive maps, high-resolution satellite imagery downloads over Wi-Fi, an Outdoor Maps+ subscription option (land boundaries, elevation contours, wildlife areas), plus altimeter, barometer, and compass. It takes microSD cards up to 1TB, with 64GB built-in.<\/p>\n
